inspiration for BAAN RIM PA comes from Tom McNamara
who arrived to Phuket after operating upscale restaurants
around the world in New York City, England, France and
on St. Martin in the Caribbean.
"When I came to Phuket I was immediately impressed
with the remarkable cuisine of the different regions of
Thailand. I decided to turn my home on the cliff overlooking
the Andaman Sea, into BAAN RIM PA," comments
Tom.
"When
my guests have dinner at BAAN RIM PA, I treat them
just like my friends who have come to my home for dinner
except, unfortunately, I have to present a bill at the
end of the evening."
Tom
quickly became a local legend for his gracious hospitality
and imagination at providing his guests with the finest
Thai cuisine available.
He
has compiled his most popular and easy to source recipes
in The Official Cookbook.
"I
searched for the most authentic recipes for Royal Thai
cuisine and found descendants of cooks to the Royal Family
who still knew how to prepare the dishes which were formerly
only prepared in the Grand Palace," continues Tom.
"I hope these recipes add as much pleasure to kitchens
around the world as they do here at BAAN RIM PA."
